Hien Nguyen was born on May 1926 in Hàn?i, Vietnam and passed away on September 7, 2016. In 1946, she met her husband, Nghiem Pham. In Vietnam, she had a restaurant. She named it Pho. Her business was very successful. Hien then had 3 children. Tuan Pham, Mai Pham and Hang Pham. Hien had two grandsons at the time. Their names are Toan and Khang. In 1988, Hien and Nghiem moved the family to Philadelphia. After a year in Philly, in 1990 they moved again to the US. During the transition to the US, Hien lost her son Tuan and daughter Hang. When coming into the US, they gave her a DOB of 12/31/1926. She's kept that as her birthday ever since.

They stayed in Dallas, Texas. Hien then gained another grandson name Trung in 1991. Hien would stay home to watch her grandchildren while Mai was at work. Hien was also in a club call, H?i Các Bà M? through the church in 1991. She was a very devoted Catholic woman. In 1992, Hien gained a granddaughter name Trang. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the park each day, cooking for everyone and praying for them. October 1992, her husband Nghiem passed away. She spent her time in prayer and being with family to heal the pain.
Traveling to Houston and Missouri once a year. She went to visit her family in Vietnam two times since she's been in Dallas; 1997 and 2002. Hien was able to see her grandson Toan married his wife Thanh on April 1, 2000. She was so happy and joyful.
In 2002, she was blessed with her first great granddaughter name Allison. A few years later, Hien was given 3 more great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons, Ashley, Alyssa, Brandon, Dominic, Alexis and Alexander. She loved them all dearly.
Thankful for every moment she got to spend with them. In 2013, Hien wasn't able to walk anymore due to her arthritis. She was on bed rest ever since. Mai took care of her day and night making sure she was comfortable. That did not stop her from being happy with her family. Smiled and laughed everyday. She lived her life gracefully, loved unconditionally and put all her trust in GOD.

We are grateful for everyday with her and we miss her so much. May you rest in paradise mother/grandma/great grandma

My grandmother was such a wonderful women, she put all her time in loving and caring for her family. She cares for us so much that she wouldn't sleep until we're all at home. I want to share the most memorable moments that I had with her. --Every morning, she will be up before me just to say, "Hi, good morning. Are you getting ready for work?" and then tell me to drive safe and she'll see me at lunch time, right before I walk out the door. While I'm at work, she will talk and play with my son, Alexander. She would say to him, "be ngoan, be goi" (good baby, lovely baby), and he would laugh and clap his hands with her. The smile on her face would light up my day when I see them together. When coming home for lunch she would tell me to eat something and get some rest before going back to work. Night time, she always reminds me to pray and tell me good night. I'm missing the daily routine that would happen with my grandmother. I will never forget every moment I had with her. I will cherish them forever. Her love was so genuine, so pure. No one can compare to her beautiful soul. I love you so much grandma and I miss you like crazy. I still cannot believe that you're gone. I know you'll always be with us, pray for us and protect us. May you rest in paradise Grandma! Love -Be

Grandma, thank you so much for everything, taking care of me, raising me, loving me, etc. I will never forget our adventures to the zoo, Houston, and Missouri for Marion Day. I remember and cherish every moment of it! I am very blessed to have you as a Grandma and I'm happy that Dominic had a chance to play with you, get to know you, and call you Great Grandma. I know he loves and misses you as much as we do. You don't have to worry about me anymore, just go be with God. Heaven has gained another beautiful and lovely angel. I love and miss you so so much! Rest In Peace, Grandma! -Love Trung

I have known Ba since I met Anh Toan back in 1993. To me she has always been a very caring and loving person. She loves her daughter, grand kids, and great grand kids. I am going to miss the pork sausage with pigs blood she use to make every Chinese Year New when she was still able to cook. I will miss those times when I come over and she starts telling me about God and Jesse. Her dreams of seeing heaven and her description of what a beautiful place it is. I am most thankful for the last few days I was able to share with her in the hospital. She was in a lot of pain but she always manage to give us a smile. -Love Anh Toan, Chi Thanh, Allison, Ashley, Alyssa, and Alexis.
